| About Walter |
Walter grew up in a photographic family and started working at a young age in his family’s photo retail store, “Hoyer’s Photo Supply” in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. His education started when his grandfather put a camera in his hand at the age of 2 and it continued through his school years shooting for the High School Newspaper & Yearbook, then as a “Stringer”, covering high school sporting events for the local newspaper. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Advertising Photography in 1986 and continues his work as a Commercial Advertising photographer working from his carriage house studio in Rochester, NY. In the past 25 years he has produced & captured everything from an egg to an 18-wheeler with everything from 8X10 film to a digital point n’shoot camera. He truly enjoys the process and the people he works with. Photography and every aspect of the medium has been so much a part of his fiber that he’s often wonders what he would be doing if his “Papa” had handed him a Tonka truck instead of a Kodak camera. Walter says, “It’s really very simple…I love to take pictures...I always have.” |
